there IS a tube that runs up to the motor from the exhaust, it connects to the smog pump system. Contact Promustangperf on AIM and tell him that i recommended you to him.

I'm running a BBK off road (no cats) X pipe on my 94 Cobra and with the stock mufflers it sounds SICK.

you CAN connect the aftermarket mid pipe(x-pipe in my case) to the smog system, or you can buy the smog elimination kit... which i'll be getting soon

if you get the smog elimination kit, just block off the tube on the mid pipe. I used a lug nut b/c it was all that i had laying around. i just inserted it in the end of the rubbe tube that came with the pipe and used the clamps included... it held fine for me!

just tried to add him to my list not online......so you just threw on the x pipe and just stopped up the holes with a pair of lug nuts stuffing them in there. You have a CEL come on?????

When purchasing a new H or X pipe, there is still a place to connect your emissions tube, all you have to do is unhook it from your stock, and once the new pipe is installed, just plug it back in. It is really simple, and if you cannot get it to fit over the flange (It's metal kind of a weird idea) then just get a piece of like 5" rubber hose, and clamp it on. I have seen it done this way in the past. Or you can delete it like previously stated...

SICK as in, nasty, or sounds real good. I've always heard an aftermarket midpipe with stock catback sounds like ****. But hey I guess not.

I have the UPR xpipe with high flow cats and a MAC catback and LOVE it.

The way it was explained to me was:
x pipe = a little more horsepower and a higher tone
h pipe= lower tone

Thats also what I've heard, but I've also heard:
x-pipe - higher pitched and not so deep, I've heard of maybe 2hp over the h-pipe
h-pipe - low tone but deep and loud

I Capped The Smog Pipe Coming From Behind The Heads With A Plumbing Cap. Look At The Pic, Not Very Good Pic But Behind The Vacuum Hoses You Can Sort Of See The Cap.

Or you can cut off pipe down below leave about 1" and smash pipe togeother and lay a weld acroos it so it don't leak that's what I did works awesome and it eliminates the pipe in the engine bay.
