Ques about tire size

RE: Ques about tire size
is there a reason your against all these sizes on rims......i mean why would everywhere suggest it and it not going to be able to fit. I can even run a 215 on my 15 inch 16.5 inch wide rims on my MR2 with no problem. They suggest 7.0 for a 215. My 6.5 works fine. If a 245 is factory there is no reason you can't bump it up a few sizes.

RE: Ques about tire size
all these sizes? my dad's GTP has 225 wide tire on a 6.5" rim stock, but it also has a lot more sidewall to play with and its "stock." Look dude im not gonna argue with you, but you did ask for opinions and I told you what is "recommended," ofcourse u can do things outside the boundaries but that doesnt mean its for the best. I talked to quite a few people because I wanted to do exactly what you're talking about with my '98 Cobra rims (which are the same size rim) and basically what I found is that nitto tires are really the only 275 tires that fit well on an 8" rim because they run narrow. The reason its not recommended to "bump it up a few sizes" is because 245 is pretty much maxing out the 8" rim. Anyone else have any opinions or experiences to share?

no rubbing or anything? Did you have to do any modification, is your car lowered?

i run a 265/35/18 up front with no problem.

RE: Ques about tire size
I'm running 265/55R16's on my 16x7 ponies and they don't rub....but I don't have any quad shocks, either.
It will depend on whether your car is lowered, if you have quad shocks, etc. I would think you could run 275's w/o a problem, but I've got a fox, not an SN95.
