Hey guys i have the 3 spoke double spoke(6 spoke factory) 95 GT wheels. I found out they are 17x8. What tire size is the best to run on a factory 8 in rim. Is 275 the largest???? I am going to be needing new tires soon so i thought i ought to start looking and getting idea's for it now to get ahead of the game.

tristars. yea i think 275 would be the biggest id put on em.

unless its a nitto tire, 275 will most likely be too wide for an 8" rim, and too wide of a tire will actually hurt your traction b/c it wont be laying flat on the street. stock size on that rim is 245/45-17 like already posted.

Well once i start doing my mods. I will need a larger tire b/c i will need a contact patch bigger then the 245 can offer. yes i know too big of one can hurt but i will need it.

then u should get a wider rim, unless u throw a 275/40-17 nitto drag radial on there, then ull be okay. But throwing a wide tire on a narrow rim will not improve ur traction

The tristars are a 8" wide rim it can handle a 275

i know what ur saying, most tires will say at least 9" for a 275 tire
