I've just strated noticing a problem with my transmission. When i'm trying to shift very fast from second to third i grind my gears. I have my clutch completly to the floor and it still does this, but doesn't if i shift slow. people have told me my syncronizers are goin bad and they tell me it is a common problem among fords. have any of ya'll ever experienced this?

yeah it's like your brakes.....they wear out from using them.

original tranny still ? a t5 rebuild is about $300 if you bring them the trans.

YEA I HAVE SAME PROBLEM. REBUILDING WILL HELP BUT IF U HAVE ANY KIND OF HORESPOWER IT WILL JUST KEEP HAPPING. I HAVE AN 83 DOIN 13.00 AND BEEN THRU 4 TRANS.

 

I have that problem going into reverse thats the only time it does it so i have to throw it in 5th then reverse and then no grinding noise,Does this mean my tranny is going?

 

umm it's not made to shift that fast. its only a little trans. it will not take a lot of power and hard shifting.
