I know somebdy very well who runs a 351 in a 90 Stang that has 3 inch exhaust with no cats and an X pipe, carbureted and 91 pump gas and no power adder. This thing is driven extensively on the street to car shows and most are more than a 1 hour drive away and I have seen it run 10's at the track. The funny part of the whole thing is watching the car roll into the drag strip, get a tire swap from radials to ET Drags and see it run the numbers. Gets alot of attention from the super pro bracket racers. I have access topics, time slips and video of this car on the street and at the track.
I t hink I speak for everybody when i say we want to know his setup !!

yeah i'd def. like to know what his set up is, and see some vids

It can be done easily supercharged. N/A will take some serious effort to keep it 8.2" based and EFI and I doubt it will be much of a daily driver. It's only money though. My LX is a street car. I have full stock interior, a/c, ps, pw, pl, pb. It's a simple 327", Twisted Wedge head, Performer RPM combo running a stock A9P. On pump gas and street tires it's an easy 10 second car. It will run 130+mph trap speed on 13 psi and 93 octane. With my new changes over the past few months, it should go high 9s now. I drive this car 52 miles round trip to work.

My friend has an '89 GT with a factory Ford hypereutectic 302 shortblock with Twisted Wedge heads, Holley intake, F cam (lol) and the same blower. It ran a 10.54 @ 121 lifting the last time out on slicks. It's a total street car. It's also the mild version of my car.

Well I will see what I can do as far as pics, time slips, and video. This car is driven everywhere. There is a member on here that may be able to help me post the pics and time slips, not sure about the video though! This car thumps very hard at an idle(heavily cammed) but it is very driveable. I have seen this thing fry the tires from first gear at about a 4 mph roll and just floor it. No dumping the clutch here. stangpower96 just may be able to help me with this. I will gve him a shout.

a n/a car can be done, you are talking about starting with a 351 stroking it all the way im saying 427 with 11.5+ comp pistons, a .600+lift cam, going to need a good ammount of duration to suck all the air and fuel in there, trick flow makes a good intake for a 351 if it would be efi. and so really good heads to make it all work. it can be done but power can be made easyer, you need to start with a r302, or a dart block so you dont blow the thing up. lots of money and lots of time, is what will get you your 10sec street car.

On the third picture of the above post you will see the unique Heddman Husslers that have a "flat" collector to give you ground clearance for the street. This car is launched at the drag strip @ 6000 RMP and shifted @ just over 7200 RPM. With the gearing it never drops past 5500 RPM with each upshift and will idle all day long and run at 2200 RPM on the highway with the 4.30 gears in OD with a 27 inch tall street tire. I have time slips for this ride to follow but the scanner will not pick them up because they are too light. I will get them photo coppied and darkened so I can post them. For now here are some pics on the street.

Here is another pic. By the way! How do I get VHS of this car onto a a file or something for people to view? I have footage of this car running hard on a secluded highway about an hour's drive to nowhere and it doing a pretty trick burnout too while it was there. There is not alot of trick parts on this car and the point of showing everyone is that when researched you can do more with less on a minimal budget. It is a legit street car and is in need of a repaint on the left front along with 3 new lights on that side after a fight with a local deer within a 1/2 mile of the owner's home. The fight was a draw, both the deer and the Mustang survived and perhaps if this car had been a trailer queen the tow vehicle would have been scheduled for the repaint. I will get the time slips and video on here as soon as I can.

Here are the time slips. The P182 number is when my street car was running in the Pro class which has an index window of 11.50 up to 13.49 ET. I never had a cage at this point so I could only legally run in Pro. The pass was with a restrictive weiand xcelerator 2V intake and the car 150 lbs lighter(no roll cage).

I then replaced the intake with the Parker Racing Funnelweb 2V intake and istalled a 10 point cage(150 lbs) and switched to Super Pro class and a new number of SP90. There is more left in this car given it needs steeper gears and better sixty foots(car is still spinning the tires). Pro Motion Performance Powertrain tells me given my MPH and weight of my car and the right gearing along with perfect traction the car is capable of 10.60's. I am researching a 393 stroker combo with better aluminum heads and a heavier cam. The 2V iron Cleveland heads are maxed out right now.
