It's a 4cyl converted carb car. I'd pass just because of that for that price. If it's a Ford crate motor, it has hypereutectics also. It has different buckets in it too. You need to check if it has an 8.8 or 7.5 rearend if you are serious. That is by far not a $6k car though.
I live near this guy i wouldnt even bid on it I would just go down and get the thing and look at it....so if I do go look at it this weekend what should I look for as far as abuse, if its taken care of, and if all the components for the conversion are correct. Also what was differnt between the Lx 4cyl and the LX 8cyl beside motor (transmission, drivetrain, engine components, interior) also did driver side airbag come standard in the LX?
The tranny was different, but since it's and AOD it was probably changed so it would bolt up. The rearend was a 7.5 in the 4cyl and 8.8 in the V8. The suspension and brakes were different. The fuel lines were on the other side of the car also. I doubt they changed the suspension, brakes and fuel lines. Since they went carb, they went the cheap route. The fuel line is probably ran with rubber hose across the front of the rack to the passenger side. I've seen this done often. That's if they just didn't put on a mechanical pump and run all rubber hose to the front of the car. In fact, I'd check the firing order to see if it's even an HO motor. Converted cars can be done so they are harder to tell, but when I see people go carb, it just screams to me they took the cheap route.
