difference between GT and LX trims
which is the better one?
whats the difference?
i would think luxury would have more features...
i had a convo w/ a friend...and he said :::
cibrlx01: whats the difference between the 4cyl mustang, and the 5L mustang
the LX is the base model that came with either a 5.0 or 2.3. the GT is the highest model with only a 5.0 and ground effects
um about 100 horsepower
cibrlx01: im not talking about engine
cibrlx01: your saying rear differential
the 4 cylinder makes 88hp. the 5.0 makes 200-230
cibrlx01: i know how much the engines put out
in the LX only one wheel will spin when u do a burnout
it doesnt have a limited slip differential
im planning on getting a 4 cyl mustang and dropping a 5L engine in
whats the difference?

RE: difference between GT and LX trims
LX is the best model to get.
It's lighter and stripped down.. weighs around 2800lbs whereas a GT may weigh around 3000lbs or more. GT also has a stiffer and heavy duty suspension. It sucks on normal roads but comes in handy when you're going fast and need to manuever. LX has a "luxury" suspension which is good for normal driving and is fine under high speeds.

If you go w/ a 4 banger, you'll need to swap out the tranny. the I4 version is geared a little differently and won't hold the same power. Some people may say it'll work fine, but you'd be taking a big gamble. Do some research on it (google).
Also, I think the 4 banger comes w/ the 7.7 rear end instead of the 8.8, but i could be mistaken on that one. You'd might be better off $-wise to get a 5.0 so you don't have to get the wiring harness, etc. that you'd need for the swap.

I said AROUND 3000lbs.. can you comprehend that, or is that above your "edjumication" level? And just because I am an *******, here is the exact weight: 2996 lbs
Extacy, learn what YOU'RE talking about... stuck up *****
Ride quality is well-controlled on base models. In the GT, you can definitely expect to jiggle and jounce over harsh pavement, courtesy of an admittedly stiff suspension. However, it is that suspension that makes the GT model handle so well, while the base model leans over heavily even in modest turns.
