It was just a simple question, I wasn't woundering when I should shift to second, I was just woundering when do you people with your mods have to shift. And wanted to know when a stock stick would have to shift (2.73 gears).

i think my 410, aod car shifts out of first around 20mph
my other 273,aod shifted out of first at 40mph

Stock gears T-5, I hit 40-45. Actually, now that I remember I do have different gears in the tranny itself along with the steel retainers, etc, so I think that my 1st is actually lower, but that's the speed she can hit in 1st.</P>

that's true...everyone knows the T-5's are a piece of work. When i had my 86 GT me and my brother got so good at changing it out. It only took us 45 minutes to replace it. I went through 3 of those suckers...The new mustang trannys aren't much better either.....
