Default weight decrease

I have a 88 mustang and i want to know the most effective way i could decrease the weight of my fox body... keep in mind i like to keep it water tight, hold in the heat, and i drive it everyday probably 40 miles... and what would be the most effective tire on my 16x8 pony's... i have 245's on there but i am about to replace them and don't know how big or what can fit... And if anyone knows a cheap way to find a fog lamp bracket... i need one there only 90 bucks everywhere so i need one for cheap too..

first off, i think your ponies are 16x7, if you do have the ones like in my sig. as for the weight loss, if your man enough, you can remove the AC system (compressor, condenser, lines) which will save around 30-35 lbs. i dont know if youll want to remove your back seat and gut the interior since you drive it everyday. you can get a fiberglass hood. a lot of people take off their front sway bar too

removing weight is a give and take kinda thing. if you want the car light... you have to make sacrifices.

A/C can be removed, not just the compressor... the lines, core, evaporator.. etc
Smog pump... this saves you a bit of weight as well. you can also pick up the elimination bracket from www.promustangperformance.com
Underdrive pulleys: dont really same ALOT of weight... but it helps the motor a little bit.
Aluminum driveshaft... only about 9 lbs of weight... and not really worth the $300

Once you have all the BS stuff out of the way... you move into the fun weight removal.

Spare Tire: Thats what AAA is for!
Trunk carpet: not alot... but hey... why not

now its time to move to the INTERIOR!!!

Rear Seat... dont need it. rear seat belts... dont need them either
Your front seats are VERY heavy... get a milk crate (j/k)
if you wanna pull the front seats.. a set of racing buckets will do nicely!

another one is to move the battery to the right side of your trunk.. it has been proven to move approximatly 60lbs over the right rear tire.... where you need it most

Remove all HVAC equipment, covert to manual steering, get glass hood, get aftermarket K frame and new A-arms. Use aluminum heads, get lightwieght seats, remove rear seats. Get lighter wheels and tires, ditch spare tire/jack. Use smallest possible battery....
