why is my 86 5.0l stang
need help wit me stang ok sumtimes wen the car idles it start to like phut phut like it ill try to cut off then iit will come back on and ilde normal. like it well be idleing normal and out of nowhere it miss fires hella much and sumtimes it well just cut off when its idleing . can any 1 help me with this problem . i just put a new idle control sensor on there, new spark plugs gaped right,new 9mm wires,msd distubutor cap it was still b4 and after i put this stuff on.

its no certain time it just does it randomly it seems like it will stop getting fuel i check to see if i had any vaccum leaks and i didn't find any do u kno any where i could find a diagram . another thing i remeber like 4 months ago i was puting sum octane booster in my gas tank and lil piece of aluminum foil from the top of the bottle fell into my gas tank could that be the problem if so how do i go bout by fixing it?

ok ill try to explain it a lil better ok when i my car is just at normal idle it just try to cut of it will like go down from 1000 to almost 0 rpm and then it will do that randomly like a couple of times then it will go back up to 1000 rpm and idle normally its not a certain time it does it sumtimes it will just cut off when its idleing like that.is that a lil better bob

have you checked yoru timing, my buddies was doing the same thing it would hunt at idle and fluctuate from 500 - 1000 it would idle like this for a bit then it would die, i would chec your timing, and remember to unplug the connector to set the computer to base timing when you do it. (2 wire connector sitting beside the distributor, pull the peice out of the end)
