well from looking at a few mags and such i think i have an old style tko, the new 500/600's have a 6 bolt shifter base in a perfect rectangle, mine has the front 2 closer together than the back 4. can anyone verify this? is a tko any good?

GM sycromesh is what Tremec recommends in their trannys. As for going into first...w/ a 3.27 first gear, you shouldn't be able to shift into 1st if you're going very fast.
