Oxygen sensor signal wire..what color?
I have a 1994 GT and im trying to hook my air/fuel ratio gauge up, but i cant find which wire coming from the 02 sensor is the signal wire. i need to piggy back into that wire. My O2 sensor consists of 4 wires. A black, two whites, and a grey. IM thinking the black is for ground, the 2 whites for heater possibly, and the grey may be the signal?? help me out here

RE: Oxygen sensor signal wire..what color?
yes you only tap into one. some one, cant remember who, wired up a toggle switch so he could flip back and forth and read both o2 sensors (not at the same time). if its like the 5.0's, the black is the sending wire.
narrow band o2s are nothing but a light show anyways. wont tell you anything except for at wot.
i have a narrow band and an lm1 wide band. the wide band will move between 14.6 and 14.8 at idle and the narrow will be all over the place

like lucky said a narrowband 02 is useless as far as tuning...but it hypnotizes women into dropping their panties since there's only a few wires to check you can also just stick a pin etc into the wire and touch the guage's wire to it and see if the gauge works (with key on) as a last resort

Ok well im lost because i went to the mustang shop today, and they told me differently. they told me that grey was the signal, black ground, and 2 whits for the heater.
