302 Bore ?

Default 302 Bore ?

ok does any one know how much it would cost me to bore my 302 0.030 over? and how much of a difference will it make if i want to use the stock stuff? will it even be worth it or should i buy new pistons and rings?

usually like 50-75$ per cylinder- yes its worth it if you're buying new pistons anyway- sometimes a high mile motor can't just be honed to straight, it must be bored and then honed. I would bore.

ok well the motor had like 160000 on it but the pistons look good and the motor ran strong when i pulled it. im thinking about just honning it and putting it in a mustang

Measure the cylinders to see how much wear they have. You might have to bore and use oversized pistons.

I did it in tech school. I wa able to to get enough gas in the oil to blow the oil pan off when it finally ignited.

I dunno where you are to pay $50-75 per hole but that is way out of line.
Last year I paid about 160 for a real hot tank/+.030 overbore job........

I am getting mine fully assembled plus the full meal deal machine job with balancing for 1300 Canadian but I supply all my own pistsons and rings

tinman are you talking about acid dipping when you said real hot tank?

ill have to look around and see how much i cheap i can find.

And i heard the best way is to send it to them with the pistons that you bought so they can make sure they all fit is that true?
