My machine shop offered to get them for me, but I know they would have a markup but in order to make sure you are getting what you need its always a good idea to send them with all the parts you want installed, then you know for a fact what is in there!

In Dallas, there's a place called City Motor Supply--I gave them my core 302 w/ 155k miles and got a rebuilt 306 shortblock and gaskets (.030 over) for $372. They also installed my E cam in it.

Yep, hot caustic acid. Really gets them clean, then you install new bearings because the old ones will be trash.
They need to have the pistons that you are going to use BEFORE they do the boring/honing operation in order for everything fit right.

o ya i know that it gets them clean i wanna do that but i dont wanna spend a **** load of money on the engine and then have it not run right or blow some thing up
