Default why adjustable rockers?

Im just wondering if someone can explain to me why a person would use adjustable rockers on their car rather than non adjustables like the factory ones were. Iv seens the 1.6/1.7's that are non adjustable..Is there any specific reason?

Most go to stud mount adjustable to allow for some compensation of any differences that might exist from each individual valve train, (i.e. cam lobe differences, lifter performance differences, pushrod lengths, length of valve stem, and so on).

well im having a problem with a motor i got that has a big cam for what i need, so im told.. 536 lift with gt40p's edelbrock intake and full exhaust(carbed car) anyhow im having some compession probs on 2 cylinders unless i loosen up the rockers (1.6 non adjustable) for those cylinders then compression comes right back.. Thinking i might need adjustables.. Thats why i asked Just wanted to make sure it would be for a prob like this and not for something else that wouldnt relate..

That would be a good reason to change to adjustable, it might be that those valves have a little bit longer stem causing that problem.

not 100% sure, but wouldn't changing pushrod length help with this situation?

Anybody, I'm curious myself

i will tell you why...his spring pressure is probably tighter on that valve....check spring pressures...you might just need to swap shims to get it right...

all the pushrods should be the same length, even though they may vary just a little.
