Power Programmer
I was just wondering if there was any type of power programmer, like hypertech for an 89 gt stang. Or if there was anything that I could do to change my rev limiter and top speed. It seems like at around 5500 rpm my car loses alot of power if I dont shift, I think it is the rev limiter kicking in. I am pretty sure that the rev limiter cuts off the fuel, I wanted to get a 6AL box and that has a rev limiter that cuts off spark, how do two diffrent rev limiters work? I dont know if it makes a diffrence but my engine is a 5.0 out of an explorer, would it still have a mustang computer? Thanks Nick

RE: Power Programmer
5500RPM is most likely the end of your power band. If you lose power after that RPM It just means it's time to shift it has nothing to do with a rev limiter.
A rev limiter will just make the engine cut out completely.

If your stock, your motor will have pretty much fallen on its face by 5000, much less 5500.
I don't see many Hypertech type deals for OBD1 cars in general. Off the top of my head, the only thing I can think of is a module or twEECer.

Love the car but not a fan of the tail lights! Anyways back to the problem what kind of fuel system are you running Stock? Whats your timing at? Did you check fuel pressure yet? Give me some more info and I can help you get this along, as well there is a twEECer you can purchase for fairly cheap if you have a laptop.... or else you can get a PMS the PMS is easy to use but alot more expensive.
