Default Mobil 1 oil with my mileage???

Would it be wise to run the Mobil 1 synthetic oil in the hatch, it's got 86,000 miles.

I've been warned in the past not to put synthetic in high mileage engines, as it breaks down seals you need that were formed by deposits from the oil. I don't think 80k is too high, but feel free to correct me guys

I've heard the same things, that it'll go past your rings easier and you'll end up burning it and it's possible that it'll leak out of seals with bad gaskets that regular oil hadn't leaked through.

My dad swares up and down to not use synthetics in a high mileage motor. But anyways the hatch doesn't have that many miles on it so I'm going to run the Mobil 1 synthetic in it. To bad there isn't a SOTP gain with oil changes. ::: Sigh :::

If it aint broke then dont fix it. Meaning If the oil ur using now works fine then why change it?
That is if your using good quality oil not any of the crappy stuff

IE: Cheveron, Shell, and Quakerstate.

The only synthitic I would go with is Royal purple witch Ill be using on my next oil change.
