Ok what about the By-Pass valve? That really needed? When it give like a turbo-blow off kinda sound?
Bypass valve opens when you are idling and letting off the gass after you just punched on it to let some of the charge out of the power pipe,, the air is hot and we all know hot air is bad for an engine, when you let off the gas there is still air in the intel which blows this valve letting all the hot air release..... Once there is suction again the valve closes and you are back in business.

I myself wouldnt run one without it, I actually dont think you can run one without it, when you buy the kits they come with one from the factory. I wouldnt want all that pressure and hot air building up in my engine. Steve a awesome place to read all this info on superchargers and Dyno numbers with different combo's is www.corral.net thats where I made all my desicions and schooled myself, search SC trim and there will be loads of info on anything

The basic principle behind the "Power Pipe" is to decrease intake restrictions. Think about it, the less intake restriction, the less vacuum is created inside the blower. The less vacuum, the more pressure.

Same goes for the MAF.

Then on the output side, you've got throttle body and intake manifold and heads both creating backpressure (restrictions) preventing how much air can be shoved in the cylinders at one time.

When Kenne Bell tests their blowers, they use the "Bazooka"... just a 4" diam pvc pipe with no air cleaner on it and a 90something mm MAF... just from going to a 90 mm MAF, they gained 28 hp, add a 90 mm throttle body, and they gained another 22 hp (http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/fo...-flowzilla.pdf)
