Yeah, i agree with tim. I used bondo on my dads truck, and it ended up looking great, that is untill about 2 months later it started rusting through again.

^^ Sounds like alot of work But I'm up for it! Anyway, I did not take it down to the metal yet because I wasnt sure if I needed to go that far. Also, I am using a DA sander thats ran off of my compressor but it sucks because my compressor is not big enough (forget what size gallon but its like 4 feet tall) so I have to stop every 10 minutes to let it build pressure again.

Also, is there anyway to tell when its perfectly straight? Because I dont want to think that its straight and than lay paint on it and realize that its not because its going to be an expensive paintjob (when the time comes). I was thinking about an "Dark Olive" from Porsche.

^^ I can absolutly NOT have that! Im going to have a 3-4k paint job (and misc. body work) layed down and it needs to be perfect. I want to have a body shop do it for me but I want the experience.

hold on a second here, you are going to pay 3-4k for paint? is this a lx or a gt? to me that is crazy. it is like 7k to have a GT done body work and paint, that seams really high for just paint. paint alone should only be 1000-1500.

Well no, that is a price for paint and possible having my roof cut off and replaced.

Im also just going off of a rough estimate... Porsche paint is NOT cheap. Its the paint on the 2006 Carrera S Cabriolet.

^^ Thanks! The whole thing with the roof is ridiculous! I have an aftermarket sunroof and I want to get rid of it. I've called an est 10 body shops and only 3 said that they would do it. 2 are prob the best body shops in Jersey and the other one was a piece of junk shop and I wouldnt let them touch my car for free. The two good shops that said that they would do it recommend it and I've also had other body shops recommend it but wouldnt get involved with something like that. I dont know what I should do... any advice......?

They all said that it would be very noticable if they just tried to weld something in there. And it would also take almost the same amount of time considering they would have to tack weld on oposite sides and contiue that until there is 400+ welds. And Im not a body guy so I cant even argue with them about something like that because I wouldnt know where to begin

Speaking of having the roof cut off. I have a 94 gt, and they sell a targa top for it, but i would have to cut the roof off myself. Ive seen photos of this take off top, and it looks so sweet. I dont think that i could take a saw to my car though.

88blue, if you are going to make this car a screamer like 400+ hp stop now dont even spend the time and money fulling with the top. all you are going to get is a mess. what is the car notch or hatch?
