what does a shift kit do and how much do they cost??

a shift kit makes your shifts stronger & harder you will chirp the wheels at wot going into 2nd for cost they are cheep 50-75 or so & pretty easy to install.

mine was 110 it was a transgo. they do more then just help chirp tires. the prevent less slipage in the tranny. any auto should get a shift kit. you dont need to set it to the hardest for every application. i had set mine for the hardest but i only use mine for street/strip use. i can bark the tires at part throttle

Can anyone explain what a shift kit does? I mean what does it do to make you have stronger shifting? And where do you install a shift kit?

it ups the pressure due to different plates,ball bearings,springs,etc

when you install a shift kit on your automatic car, do you still have overdrive, or do you have to shift manually all the time.

you only manually shift it all the time if you ahve a manual valve body.

a shift kit comes with different springs and you have to drill out a few orafices and plug up others. move some ***** around. its mainly added strong springs to they valve body.
