MAF swap and now it feels slower
ok just finished the mass air swap on my 86 gt over the weekend. and the car feels slower. it seems to me that by looking at them, the MAF intake tube is a bit smaller in diameter than the speed density when putting them side by side. it could just be in my head but i know the MAF one was alot harder to fit around the throttle body than its counterpart. anyone ever ran into this one before?

what computer you using??i did 4 swaps..so lets see what you got...
s/d has a diff.programming...stock vs stock my s/d did seem faster..
did you hook up the vehical speed sensor?....mass air cars/cruise require it.sometimes you can get away with it..
whats your tps set at?....also turn the meter towards the fender...

the setup is out of a 90 gt 5 speed. i guess the meter is stock. i didn't fool w/ the speed sensor. might be the problem but i was hoping i could get away with it. it isn't throwing any codes other than what it was throwing before the swap. 33 egr valve, and i believe 41 and 91 system rich. don't know what the tps is at. it was at .99 before but i had to remove it to unhook my nitrous line. i will check it later on this week some time.

If your MAF is stock and you have a little extra cash, find a pro-m 75mm or something similar. Used will work too, as long as it's in good shape. the larger MAF should help your power some.

twisting i guess you want to call it..will put the tube in better air..kinda like leaning it out some...

ok this may sound stupid but what do you mean by turning the meter towards the fender, and what is the significance of doing this?
