it can be one of the things mentined, or all of them, there can be other issues, but the ones mentioned are the most common

could be. get a volt meter, and check the voltage of the wires coming out of the tps. positve end goes to the green wire, and negative end goes to the black wire. if you get a voltage of .98-.99 then your fine but if your off, then you can loosen the two tps bolts and turn it until you get the right reading

not the same issue, your daughter's 88 (unless it is a california car) is speed density, messing with the vacuum on a speed density car can put it into open loop and dump a ton of fuel into the cylinders, mas air stops this from happening

TPS is located on the top of the throttle body. The IAC is located on the right side. (looking from the passenger side)

Have you tried cleaning the IAC motor? Those are the most problematic for your symptom.

no, i havnt tried cleaning the IAC motor, so if i was looking at it from in front of the car, it would be the part thats toward me?
