BATTERY PROBLEM

the little negative battery cable is smoking. i was thinking the wires need to be replaced .. what casues this ..the battery is fairly new

Try cleaning the ends and the body/block where they connect.

i just turn the key trying to make it start and it smokes. it doesnt even crank.. but when i turn the key back the stereo works and light too
