Default what will it run?

Anybody up for some bench racing?

I've had my car for several months now and havent been able to get to the track, and I would like to get ideas on what it will run once I get it to the track. Mods are as follows:

'89 Hatchback

Auto w/ shift kit
12* timing
full exhaust headers, h pipe, flows
cai

Also, I would like to get some 3.73 gears for it, but a set of 3.55s is available for free right now (girlfriend's truck is totaled). How hard is it to change rear end gears out, and is it worth the trouble to put them in (or have them put in if it is a difficult task) if i plan on getting the 3.73s later?

Inspite of my username, the car does run strong. lol

sounds like mid-low 14s... high 13s if you get the gears. i see you have an auto, skip the 3.55s and 3.73s... go straight to 4.10s, best gear for an auto IMO. i wouldn't do the gears myslef if i'd never done it before or don't have a knowledgeable person to help out.

yeah i would go straight to 4.10's my 88 gt with the same set up as yours with the 3.55's ran 15 flat down the track, but i wasnt getting any tracktion, the track i was on sucked. but im thinking probably high 14's messing around with the 3.73's would be a waste of time and money because you would be disapointed after awile driving it

I doubt with the AOD that you will hit 13's or even low 14's.. I would guess low 15's high 14's..

In my 5spd car I went 14.8 with basically what you have.

yea I ran 14.7@97 at LACR with 4.10s, full exhaust, pulleys, cai, LCA's, Eibach sprins, sbuframes...electric fan,no smog,...I had 2.2 60'ft times...The track sucks for traction....with the mods it has the potential of mid -low 13's but its lacking traction...If I manage to cut atleast 1.8 60'fters i would run 13.8ish or even 13.6 I would need slicks to cut 1.7 or 1.8...

WOW dude you need to push that 306 or get a tune. I had a 306 with an e-cam long tube headers h-pipe no cats 3.73 gears and a stock srod 4 speed trans...cut the shifter down and i ran a 13.4 ish.....i guess that the carb rejetted helped a lot but damn

mid to high fourteens seems to be what everyone is saying. are thirteens possible with a 2500 stall converter, the 3.73s, and drag radials?
