Default Mod Issues

After I bought my 88 GT I immediately did a ton of work and can't get it running. I installed Equal length shorties, underdrive pulleys, 1.7 rockers, lower intake, upper intake, 70mm throttle body, remove smog, and some exhaust work. It was running enough at that point to set the timing. I then cleaned the IAC and had trouble getting it to start again. after a week or so with no luck I did a MAF conversion and know It wont fire at all it actually pops out of intake like timing is off, but no matter where I move the distributor it still pops and wont fire. ANY IDEAS I am lost now.

That's the biggest problem w/ doing a bunch of work at 1 time.

Could be...
Rockers misadjusted
Distributor in wrong
Plug wires crossed
MAF conversion wired wrong

Have you checked it for, fuel, spark and compression?

what intake do yo have on the car? if its a performer intake make sure that you got the side intake gasket on right I did that once and it had that same problem. Also reset your dizzy to tdc and point the dizzy to the #1 cylinder that will rule out the dizzy being the problem

I just checked the distributer and it was fine as far as #1 cylinder. I had the car running after the roller rockers so I am assuming those are not the issue I was able to set the timing after the RR install.

check to see if your spark plugs are wet from fuel.I pretty sure you have some kind of spark if it pops.Try putting some starting fluid down the tb and see what happens

I might help if you better define the sequence of work and point out where in the sequence it ran and was able to set the timing.
Just another thing to consider, if you have an aftermarket coil and you were turning the engine over with the starter with the coil wire out, you could have burned out the coil.
