RE: Well, you guys wanted pics of my new pony......
please resist the urge to crank over that car...
its been sitting for years, so the bearings are more than likely bone dry...
go on summitracing and buy yourself an oil pump priming rod... change the oil and get all the oil stuff out, then when you fill it up with the new oil give the oil pump a few spins. this will get new fresh oil to all of your bearings....
last thing you wanna do is spin a bearing on a dry start.... right?

I'd replace all the fluids if the cars been sitting including power steering and brake fluid. Make sure you check out the brake lines and stuff. Make sure nothing underneath is rotted out, floors, fuel lines, gas tank, etc. Is this going to be a resto project or just something to cruise around in? Sounds like a great deal.

well, guys im sorry I couldnt resist, I poured some gas in and took off the wire form the coil to the distributor and cranked it for a little letting the oil get up into the parts, then I hooked up the coil and away it went, the engine fire up and was sooooooo nice, no stuttering, no smoke, no nothing, it was running good, course it was only for 15-20 seconds, the belt was cut so nothing was connected to the engine, not even the water pump, which I took off yesterday because it was the original 20 year old water pump and it was frozen to get at autozone free , today Im gonna put in new everything though
just gonna do what the engine needs, I cant drive it for 2 months, so brakes and power steering arnt necessary yet. like I said nothing is rotted, but I have some big plans

Water Pump = Free replacement
Spark Plugs = 12.47
By-pass & Heater Hose = $19.54
Lower Radiator Hose = $21.54
Fuel Filer = $17
K&N Air Filter = Free
also the heater core is messed up, I was wondering what I can do to stop water from reaching it, since it leaks into my interior [:@]
