Default Engine Bay Restoration - Recommendations Please

Hello again guys,

picking up the 5.0 tomorrow morning bright and early and want to know your recommendations on how to clean up the engine bay to make it look "new". I was considering sandblasting and spray painting all the components that are screws/mounting brackets but would like to know what options I have.

I plan to get new intake manifold which will fix that and a new intake, but i'm not sure what else.

I don't have the car yet so could somebody tell me what tank that is to the right of the picture i've attached that looks like a mini gas tank for a goped scooter in the upper right. I want to order a replacement because it is really dirty.

Also the engine bay is going to be repainted the color of the vehicle, it is probably the first thing i'm going to do, so woohoo!

Please give me some pointers if anybody has done this or how to clean it extra good.

Thanks guys!

Holy handline! She is dirty, but I have seen worse. The little tank you speak of is the Brake fluid resivoir. You are going to need a good brush and some simple green. Take your time, and dont power wash it!

Why do you say not to pressure wash it? I was planning to on a low setting with all electrical components covered up and taped closed along with the intake covered up of course.

Where can I purchase simple green? I'm going to advanced auto to buy some new tire shine for the new girl coming home tomorrow and will stop by home depot for the simple green if advanced doesn't have it.

Why is having the filter in the engine bay retarded? I had to move mine because I kept getting water in it and choking my car out in the rain. Havent had any problems since I moved it out of the fenderwell. Why do I have to be gay? I hate when that happens.................
