RE: ticketed for being too loud???
I don't know what it's like other places, but I don't see how a cop can give a loud car a ticket when harleys and other loud *** motorcycles are riding around. They're way louder than any street car i've seen.

yeah i was thinking about that myself earlier. every harley i've seen was loud as hell, and sometimes annoying because of that. but cops don't care. i wonder how they get around being so loud...

Yeah, that's total bs if you ask me. What does it matter what the hell the noise is coming from... If it's loud, it's loud.

Here in Indiana. I had a buddy that got 5 tickets for disturbing the peace. He went to the court house and told them he got mufflers(he didn't). They just tore the tickets up. But he smarted off to the cop and the cop got smarter. The cop wrote him a ticket for not having any catalytic converters. He had to pay that one. So... I guess mufflers don't matter here. But the cats do.
As for the loud *** harleys.... They get annoying when you live right out of town on the highway. There's semi's using the j-brake that are quieter.

I live in the middle of Iowa and have had several "loud exhaust" tickets in my 1970 Ford pickup. It makes sense though because my 390 with straights is damn loud!!

I'm guilty of having straight pipes too. My 2000 silverado's got'em. But it's relatively quiet. It's still got the cats on it. So it's about as loud as an old hot-rod with flowmasters on it.
