Default engine cleaning

my engine is so dirty and is in need of some serious cleaning.. i bought some simple green but I was wondering if you all had any tips for me on how to do this with out messing anything up.. and also on what i should cover... any and all tips are appreciated

spray it on everything.

cover the spark plugs, distributor, battery and other electronics.

don't spray too hard with the hose but don't be a little ***** about it.

it will look great. take your time.

okcool... and cover the air filter and take the belt off right? how long do i let the simple green sit before washing it off

3-5 minutes, then spray some more
