Default LOOK - Won Ebay Auction (PICS)

I'm not in the best financial situation to be purchasing more and more parts but I couldn't help myself. I have to pay a bunch of taxes as I was an independant contractor for a site sponsor here who ripped me off but that is besides the point!

I purchased a set of (4) Weld Draglites with tires! To make this clear, I only purchased the wheels lol, I already owna 5.0 and did not purchase another lol!

I paid $600.00 and they still have the nice chrome shine instead of an old polished look like most worn wheels look like. Anyways, they come with some BFG radials up front and a set of Hoosier slicks out back with half tread left.

These are going to be for track use until the slicks are done and then I will switch over to some Nitto Drag Radials and make these my daily wheels. Anyways I won't ramble on any more but here are the pictures!

I am just finishing up my H/C/I, should be done by the end of this upcoming weekend. I pick my heads and cam on Friday! 12's hopefully will be within my grasp with this AOD and if not some 3.73's or 4.10's will be on the way!

86 5.0L said it all, I will have the mods to back those slicks up. I don't want to have to worry about traction when I go to the track and i've already met the wall once with my other stang due to traction and an un-prepped track.

Ultimately slicks aren't going to hurt my times lol... If I had a stock car with slicks that of course is going to hurt your time but when your talking about a 12 second car traction is of the essence.

I'm with 90mustang5.8 ... Those look to be 28" slicks. If that is the case, you better have faster than a 12 second car. A Fox with a head swap does not call for 28" slicks.

If they are 26" then you are in the clear... Oh and BTW, you will most definately need gears to go 12's with a stockAOD and H/C/I...

They are 28's, but another thing I hadn't mentioned is a plan to run a 75 or 100 shot.

For $600 it was too good to pass up for me. Anyways, I want to put drag radials on eventually because I want to use them for daily driving.

Cool, yeah no doubt it was a great deal, I would have snagged them too! I just wanted you to know that you could probably see better times with a smaller tire, especially with a stock gear. Hell, PRO50SC just went from 28's to appx 26" tire and dropped .5 second! If that doesn't tell you how much the diameter means, then I don't know what does. And he has a Procharger on his car...

The nitrous will help, see what it can do on the 28" slicks, then compare to when you get the drag radials, I am sure you will see a pretty good gain when you slap on the radials..

Good luck! Have fun, and try not to break anything. BTW, I hope you plan on beating in your inner fender wells, and rolling the lips of the fenders. Expecially with a lowered fox like you have, it is going to be tough to get those big 28" tires in there..

If they don't fit without modification, I will just remove the slicks then sell them. I bought the package ultimately for the weld's i'm obsessed with the look and will just put some drag radials on.

I figure I can sell the slicks if I don't like them or they don't fit and just put a drag radial on eventually. I don't plan to hit the track until winter (I live in Florida) and because I don't want to rush to get there and make a mistake and brake something. I still need to finish my H/C/I which will be done this following weekend when I pickup my heads and need a new MAF for the 24lb injectors. I also will probably put the gears in before I head out there. I'm pretty much just evaluating my situation and buying things I want/need.

I do hope the slicks fit though so I can see how I roll with them. I should have the spray by winter and I mean if I have these slicks I might as well run the 100 shot through 1st if traction won't be an issue, so we'll see.

Nice find. I thought the same thing about the deal I got on my wheels. Figured I'd try the 28's out cuz they were part of the package. No good w/ 3.73's. If you plan to run that sized tire w/ any success, you need at least 4.10's and maybe even 4.30's. And traction def won't be a problem w/ those tires.

Oh here's a good example. One of the vids I posted I ran a black notch. I was chatting a lil w/ the guy while we were waiting to run. He had M/T ET drag radials, 275/60/15 (28" tires). Beautiful car. It had a cam in it but not sure of anything else. He was running 4.10's. His et was a 15. something. I don't know if hes was stick or auto either. Here's the run
