Default Stock Stang

Hey guys I just joined Mustang Forums today and I like what I see and I've got a question for you guys.

I've got a 1992 Mustang GTConvertibleall stock besides the Flowmasters.

Whats the first couple of things I should get in an effort to get 300+ Horse?

I say 300+ Horse because its a vert and I would rather have a Hatch or Coupe if I'm going to take it out to the track and really try moding it out to 400-600 HP.

How should I start off in order to reach my goal?

Please note that I'm only 17 and don't have more than $1,000 to spend, thanks.

All stock with that much to spend. I dont know. You need to get a good plan in place to know where to start. You said you wanted to keep the car streetable, meaning you will never plan to put her on the track because she is a vert. You are going to have begin with one part at a time until you get where you want to be. Head, cam, and intake are a good start. Gears will make an improvement in acceleration. What do you want the end result to be?

Yeah I was thinking of starting off with a K&N Cold Airintakeand a 5.0L Cobra "R" Upper and Lower Intake, and to go along with it a 70mm Throttle Body.

Thenthe headers and gears would shortly come along after that.
