Hey guys my name is Johnny and i am only 14 years old andi love Mustang 5.0's. Someday i'll have my own. My friends told me that I don't know **** about cars and i noticed that Ireally don't.

I need to learn starting off with the basic stuff like....

Whatdoes5.0L mean? 5.0 Liters of what?

What do they mean by 302?

What does a Super Charger do?

What does a Turbo do?

What is Horse Power?

What is Torque?

Please help me out as soon as possible so i can shut my dumb friends up, thanks.

uve got to be kidding me.....

302 cubic inches or 5.0 litres of displacement... engine displacement is the total volume of combustable air/fuel that an engine can use in one complete cycle

a s/c forces air into ur engine so that you get more power more air=more power

same w/ a turbo just exhaust driven not engine driven like a s/c

horse power is basically a unit of measurement
1 horsepower = 745.69 watts of power

torque is basically a moment (engineers would understand what a moment is as i am majoring in that) or rotational force

and liters means that the displacement of an engine is "how ever many" liters. example if you turn the crank a certain amount of times it wound take in how ever many liters of air.

EDIT: u've got a long way to go

Pick up a few car magazines when you go to the store. Im sure youll find most of what youre looking for in them and then some.
Ive had a few subscriptions since I was your age.

hey,

i think your best bet would be to pick upa basic 5L ford engine magazine. that will point out all the parts and tell you what they do. rather then having a 100 page thread on tell you what everything is
