this guy i used to work with spent $17k on an rsx type-s. used to talk a bunch of $h1t till i saw him on the beach one day.

he kept up decently but by 3rd gear i was pullin on him real bad. next day he came by my work and said he slowed down cus we were in a hot spot.

it was a waste of gas IMO...

 

You should take him pretty easily. The RSX's are actually pretty fast for a stock n/a 4 banger, so don't underestimate it. If you get a good launch, you'll take him, but go from a dig. RSX's are quick from a roll(relatively speaking at least), on account of they already got the rpm where they need it, freakin HIGH, so if you go from a roll expect a tougher race, but you should still win. Dig is gonna be your best bet

 

You can take him out, and if not get somegears. 3.73's should fix it.

i ran my buddys 2007type s when all i had done was flowmasters and offroad h...from a 65 roll i pulled away slowly but steadily...from a dig it was dead even...neither of us got traction

 

a set of gears and a good driver mod, and you should eat him up. My cobra wasted a few RSX's when it was just intake/exhaust

 

Your worn out AOD will be the deciding factor.

 

I know it's unreleated... but I think I raced a car on the way home last night. I was driving up route 1 doing about 45 - 50 MPH or so. All of a sudden a light blue old Chevy Lumina slowly pulled up beside me. I just figured he was trying to pass so I thought nothing of it. But all of a sudden, I see a little black smoke coming out of the rear of his exhaust and he sllowwwly starts to pull away. Due to the light smoke, I figured his POS was running WOT all of a sudden, so I rolled down my window to listen and sure as ****, it sounded like his engine was revving.

Keep in mind that he is barely pulling away! My first thought after that was something along of "what the ****... is this a joke?" But I figure why not and floor it. Because I'm already moving at a decent pace, I am already in the 3000 or ro RPM range so my boost damn near instantly kicks in, I hook, and literally within 2 - 3 seconds I am blowing by him as if he is standing still. I have never caught a car that fast or closed in on one so damned fast.

I'm not even sure what to think of it. I don't know if he was just screwing around or if he was one of those Chevy guys that bought into the rumor about Mustangs being old, slow, and heavy. But still... a Lumina? The piece of **** could barely even hold at WOT.

In his defense, maybe he thought that I was trying to race. When he first passed me and I was just cruising, I was only in 3rd gear. So with my exhaust, that can sound pretty loud. I happened to be datalogging when this happened (datalogging in to dial in and tune my MAF transfer) and my TPS was only reading about 1.5v at the time he passed me. Considering it's 1.005 for me at idle, I know that I wasn't getting on it hard.

Oh well. I just thought it was really strange. I've had lots of cars pass me, obviously. And I've had some decent races. But never have I had something so obviously crappy actually pass me at or near WOT to the point where smoke was coming out of the exhaust while they were "racing." I must admit, it was really funny to see how slowly that thing accelerated though. Wish I had a camera I'll have to start bringing one with me. Last time I did have one, i got some nice video of a GT-40. Of course I was in my Geo so it wasn't a race

 

a 3.1l v6 lumina motor makes around 135hp a n the 3.4l Z34 lumina will give u a run. i had a v6 2.8l GTU beretta, that would eat any stock v6 mustang and keep up with 5.0s. grantit the beretta is alot lighter, he was prolly just being funny. i fuc k with cobras and saleens in my 93 four banger just to be an as s. mostly cus i think the new er saleens are hideaous from 04 up. and its always some old rich grampa driving them.i really mess with them in the 5.0, haha. i geuss im a jerk
