Default Short Shifter Question

Im looking at getting a short shifter. been in cars with the B&M shifters and they felt good. My question is about fitment. I have a Flip up Screen and was wondering what the positioning was for the shifter after installation if it changes much. Right now it hits if i open it and it is in 1st 3rd or 5th but im never really opening it and closing. Just wondering if the shifter sits closer to the dash because i like how the stock one is angled back towards the drivers seat. thanks guys.

i have an mgw and it is amazing! you can unbolt the handle and spin it around at any angle you want. i love it!
that sounds kinda cheapy but it's a good shifter.

MGW here as well, the adjustability is amazing. You can get it where ever you want height wise and angle wise.
