Got er started,The gas went badfrom sitting so long, but the question I have is if you continue to gun the engine in neutral to keep the engine running to burn off the bad gas should the exhaust system get red hot from the headers almost to the tail pipe?

 

were you doing it at night? cuz ur headers are always gonna glow red. n ur really gonna see it at night. especially since your reving the engine making your exhaust even hotter.

 

yeah bout 8:30 or 9pm not dark then, but this is norm, correct

 

the headers on my truck do that n the headers on my car do that. i would say thats normal cuz everybodys ive seen when it starts to get dark start glowing red.

headers do NOT glow unless there is a PROBLEM with your ignition/fuel system
headers run around 700-800 degree's on the NORM.
if they are glowing, they are at LEAST 1600

 

its gonna show at night. mine only glow right at the top. r u sure. cuz if its not ill do some checkin into it on my car. everything ive seen at night with headers glow atleast a lil bit. ill check into it if its not supposed to

 

mattdel, what do u mean by a fuel system prob or ignition prob, explain, its gettin plenty of gas andstarts right up.

running rich enough to dump raw fuel into the headers, running extremely lean, and timing

all 3 are contributors to red headers
