I have a modded out s197... but that is besides the point here...

I raced an 07 GT with a C&L Racer CAI and tune from Evolution Performance with some Borla Stingers...

Anyways I have an AOD (automatic of course) and he has a 5 speed (manual of course)... The race was from a 5mph roll and I smoked him from 0-40 and had him by 2 cars which is around the time he gets to second gear. Once he hit second he starting pulling up (according to my friend) as I shifted my AOD into 2nd (1-D-1 FTW) and I snapped my shifter off (FTMFW) so I still managed to make an early shift into second turn into an early shift to third sadly as well... My friend said to me I wasn't paying attention at all when that happened and was staring at the shift handle stuck in my hand... Anyways I let off when I got into 3rd and was ahead by a car length...

We couldn't come to a conclusion if I would've held my ground and stayed about even with him if I hadn't messed up that shift. We were going to run again but the kid I was racing was already on a suspended license...

Anyways I have H/C/I and he has just a C&L Racer intake and reflash with SCT X-Cal2... Anways, i'm on a STOCK AOD tranny with no shift kit, no valve body, not even a higher stall after running a bigger cam (just an e-303, but the converter slips currently). I also have stock gears which are like 2.73???... I also have a ZEX wet kit that I will finish installing tomorrow!

I don't mind hearing some people calling BS due to my stock tranny and terrible gear ratio... I will be re-racing him or another s197 with videos for sure along with a charger r/t daytona which I should take easily...

Anyways I wasn't expecting too much with the stock AOD and gears so thought I would rant about it!

Last thing, if we went from a dead stop I think I would've got a better lead because of the traction issue of s197's and wheel hop... I just got my M/T drag radials mounted and put them on today with my draglites, 2nd gear grabs like no other!
