i got a 89 5.0 gt 5 speed and want to change ratios but what would you guys recommend i dont care about mileage or anything. i just have exhaust but may be thinking of going to carb setup.

Go for 3.73's with the 5 spd. If you do mostly city driving you're gas milage gets better believe it or not lol Put some fuel injector cleaner in and you should get 450 km's to a tank, and thats driving it hard half the time

go with 4:30 if you dont care about gpm. i have a 92 gt 5 speed with 4:30 and it rocks pulls the wheels 6" or so at the track! and runs mid 12s with out a power adder

I agree with 3.73 for 5 speed, 4.10 for automatic. If you go 4.10 in your manual, kiss 1st gear completely goodbye.. I wouldn't base your decision solely on RPM's - the difference at highway speeds is only going to be a couple hundred - maybe 3 or 4 mph. (between 3.73 or 4.10, that is). If it were me, i'd go 3.73.

screw that auto 4.10 5 speed 3.73 i have 4.10 in my 5 speed and i love them i drive my car every day and ya gas milage isnt that great but neither is my driving habits 5 seed you have that extra gear to support the 4.10

5 speed + 410 = no first gear according to my friend with both in an 85 gt.
