torque boxes
well, i can say, without a doubt, that torque box health is a big variable amongst our foxes.
i have seen 12 second foxes with no torque box troubles...
and then there is my car, basically stock drivetrain, with tore up torque boxes.
if i grab a set of reinforcement plates, what can i expect to pay to have a body shop repair & install them? i'll be doing the interior work, as far as removing the seat and carpet..
i'd do it myself, but i have no lift access for my own vehicle, thanks to company policies and gay management.

The matco tool dealer where I work races an unlimited drag radial car that runs 5's in the 1/8. He only has the torque boxes welded with no plates. The plates may not really be required. Reinforcing them would definitly be a good idea though.
Also expect to pay 3-4 hours labor if the interior is taken out already.

only real problem i have is the drivers side lower box. the control arm has been knockin lately, so i grabbed a jack and took a peek. low and behold, the box is messed real bad. all the seams are broken.
it doesnt appear to have done any damage to the arm bolt hole, yet.
