get a how-to manual, a friend or 2 (preferably car club members with experience in auto repair), a 24 pack of bud light and save your self some cash. cuz the way i see it, frankly, is that if u have the $300 to spend, then asking the forum isnt gonna change the price (make the shop guy go lower). if u have the cash for the over 500 dollar service, then why even ask the forum. sounds pointless. but hey either way, get em installed, i got mine on for free with all the trimmings on the house. good luck and have fun.

I just priced 3.73's at a machine shop...$303 for the gears and $75 an hour for install...he said it will take around 3 hours, so i'm looking at around $700 total.

He said the cheaper ones (like the ones you see at Brenspeed) are like butter and he won't install them...that's why he quoted me those $300 ones. I would attempt to do myself with some of from my dad and a friend, but I read you need some special tools in order to be able to do it.

there are two shops way closer to you. there is one in plymouth right near the water front... those guys ahve plenty of fast stangs and now there way around one and there is also mustang performance in whitman. he probably knows even more and has so many damn cars in his shop it would make your head spin. he has done lots of projects from mild stuff to totally outta control cars. i would call him up he is a sponsor of this site and is cool ask for chris. he is always reasonable priced.

for the record i have dealt with and my friends have dealt with cd performance and i won't be there again. i am not about to air out someones dirty laundry but i would check out those other two places i recommended.

Unless you know what youre doen, dont attempt your gears. Gotta get the right shims, backlash, and it takes a few hours. Did mine by myself but i also have a shop. Alot of guys do theres ona jack but sooo much easier on a hoist. But thats not a bad deal. Go for it.
