Default Help me Decide, Getting a mustang

I am currently in a delema. I know for a fact I want a 94-95 5.0L Mustang. What I can't decide is whether to go with a GT orCobra. I know the basic differences between the two (I searched and read them ), my plans for the car would be H, C, I, with a super charger and alot of 1/4 mile time. Going with the GT would save me alot of money up front and allow for more modding sooner. I am just worried that I might regret not going for the Cobra. Knowing my plans for the car, should I go with the GT or not?

Another thing to consider, a 2000-2004 Mustang GT is in my price range. Would that be a better choice over th 5.0? Main reason I was looking into the 5.0 is the parts are cheap/plentifull and the engine is alot more simple and straight forward (Easier to work on)

a 4.6 is going to be more expensive to build, and personally unless you can find a cobra for not too much more just get a gt, I wouldent focus on gt/cobra as much as miles and condition.

Anyone else? I like what these guys are saying (easier on my wallet), but I don't want to end up wishing I had paid the extra for the cobra. Are the breaks, suspension, coated trany gears, bigger injectors, and the fact that it's a Cobra worth the 3-4 grand? Thanks.

Heck, just buy mine. All the work's been done.
I got waaay more than asking price and it'd cost you waaay more to duplicate it.
Good luck which every way you go..

if you plan to mod a 94-95 plan to carefully select your mods mainly the cam a steeda 19 will be your friend to the ecm any aggressive cam with a lope and be prepared to fight idle quality and a custom tune will be a must.....as the ecm's for these years are a bit touchy but not impossible.....once tuned right and if your careful with the cam selection all will be good . sn-95's are nice cars to work with...the last of the5.0's.

if you can find a cobra go with the cobra. quite frankly they dont cost much more than the GT. but i you just plan on changing the top end than a GT will do. it is always nice to know that you own a cobra though.

I second the above post. If you find a Cobra, it should not be much more than a GT in similair conditon. If you paln on H/C/I, you are basically changing all the thing that seperate a Cobra form a GT, power wise. The Cobra will have the front bumper/round fog lamps, bigger breakes, 24 lb'ers, white faced gauges(I think)etc. Thing you already mentioned.

A New Edge GT in good shape(7000+)should cost more than a 5.0 Cobra( From what I have seen on AutoTrader.) Also I have seen the 96-98 4v Cobras for ~$7500. The 305 HP ones, if you are interested.
