Ok a guy i was talking to told me that if you where to get 1.6 RR's and 1.7 RR's and put the 1.7's on the exhaust and the 1.6's on the intake you would get a better response and hp.... it kinda makes sense.. has anyone ever heard of this little trick?

wouldnt you have to be very weary of your lobe seperation in this case? because with the longer rang of travel on the 1.7 wouldnt it stay open longer? if thats true, i guess then you could time it right and get a scavanging effect in the cumbustion chamber right?

It's a bandaid to help with the poor exhaust flow on stock small block heads. Same reason most cams run split lift and duration favoring the exhaust. Or boosted cars. No point if you have aftermarket heads. Helps in racing classes where you need to run the stock cam.
