No no no you don't need new ones....all you need is some mild rubbing compound and a high speed buffer...I did mine a few months ago and they look good as new......you can get some 800 to 1000 grit sand paper and wet sand and then buff and then they will look new ....I usually just use compound and a high speed buffer ...works great!!

You buffed the outside of the headlight? Right off the front of the car?

I always thought the yellow was from the inside...

nope it's on the outside!!! in extreme case blurring occurs on the inside.....trust me it works great...mine were so bad on the headlight machine it barely registered 300 candle power 400 is the state minumim here in Maryland ....right on the car I did it.....I held the buffer on it's side...a high speed one and used some rubbing compound and all was good in a matter of minutes. Done it to many customers cars too to pass inspection when candle power falls below spec

Just make sure you have a high speed buffer and I use the rag looking pad/head...the foam ones get torn up to easy......I'm not a huge fan of the XENON lights alot of BMW's I work on have them and they do put out a lot of light don't get me wrong....but I like the white light look better...just my opinion / preference though

I watched an episode of Two Guys Garage a couple of months ago and they used toothpaste to get the yellow out. It was cool - cheap and it worked.
