mix and match your own setup, what ever you do stay away from the trickflow top end kit...

You gonna get it now. jk. But PRO will probably move this. I currently have a 351, soi cant help you too much. I have had 302's in the past. Are you looking for that number at the wheels or flywheel.

I agree about the Trick Flow kit. Do some research, you cant just slap pieces together. Your goal is common for the 302's. I am sure there are several people who have close to the power you are looking for. If you are nice maybe they will share with you.One common response will be to get a custom grind, i use to didn't know better, but i have one on my current engine and it is worth it, because with out a custom grind you are just guessing. It is the heart of the engine, you want it to be functioning properly just like yours.

just on an HCI swap your not getting 350 to 400. 300 hp is more like it on your typical HCI. im going to have RHS 180cc, port matched typhoon to the eddy 1" spacer, b303 cam (might switch it out for a custom grind) 70mm tb and egr 75mm pro mas, and 30lbs injectors with kirban adjust fuel reg and 255 lph pump also1.6 RR's. pretty sure im going to hit 300hp.

So what's the deal with the Trickflow kit? I have been told by several people on this site in other threads that its a good one to use...and the website says peak hp is 350..

the trickflow kit often does not break 300 rwhp.

My 302 setup was geared towards boost.

RHS 180cc heads, 64cc chambers
Steeda #19 cam, .480/.480 lift 220°/226° @ .050 lift (.510/.510 lift with 1.7 rockers)
Holley Systemax2 Intake manifold

This setup, tuned properly should have made high 280's-low 300's, It would have made a VERY nice boostable 302 motor.

wow.... ummm no

RHS 180cc heads (moderate flowing heads, there are much bigger out there), Comp Cams 281HR 35-302-8 cam (again very moderate cam, good lift for a street motor and retained the vacume at idle very well), FRPP Cobra upper and lower (Very base intake, nothing special, many many intakes out there are better), Scorpion 1.6 Roller Rockers, 30# injectors, full exhaust, and I laid down 347.8 peak RWHP.

I didnt need a Big *** Cam, and high CFM heads, and LOTS o' Fuel.

Build a setup with recommendations from a reputable local machine shop. They will always steer you in a good direction. And whatever you do, get a dyno tune when you are done, You will be glad you did.
