Well I sold the 99 about a month ago and just picked up a 79 capri.. (it was free) It has great body. I am pretty much going to turn it into a drag car. but I was wondering if you all could tell me what I have. It is a 5.0.. Do those come with 8.8? How strong is the block. (4bolt)? just that kinda stuff thanks for the help... Ohh the first mods are weight reduction cage and tub

stock should be 7.5 if I am not mistaken, The block is not a 4 bolt, only boss blocks are 4 bolt that ford made. Block will be in danger of splitting down the lifter valley at 450 - 500hp. In short get a Boss block (good to 1300hp) or a Dart Block. Ohh and This just became your new best freind. You say the body is in great shape but they have a decent performace section on there.

He never said he is looking for 500 hp. Just rebuild the block you have. If you are looking for more power put h/c/i with high compresion, or do same thing with low comp. and go forced induction. I personally like high compression with nitrous.

No but he asked how strong it was so I told him where the weak points are. He also told us what his plans are so I was letting him know the extents of this motor are. Personally I would build a 408 and have fun with that.

Yeah the motor will not reamain stock.. LOL I am planning on building a pretty nasty 10:5.1 +- compression motor and either spraying a big shot (200+) or going fuel injected with a lil turbo.... I know everyone says that.. but hey this is a purpose build that I plan on taking my time and building it just the way I want to. my fear is to build the motor and have the block break.

anyone on here heard of wolverine?? I would like to know what he has done to his motor. I think he dynoed like 1013RWHP at like 32PSI!!!!! that car is well.. just sick..

I can agree with that . I have a 357 now with stage 2 ported tw's, and a pretty radical cam. I would love to stroke it in the near future and would probably just re-use the parts i have now.

the guy I am getting the car from just told me it might already have a 351 in it. but the is not sure. He said it didnt look stock so we will see once I can get the engine code
