Chassis Questions
So lets say, hypothetically speaking, I have a natrually aspirated 450 hp stroker hanging in my garage and I was to put that in a hatch. What exactly should I do with the chassis of the car other than the obvious subframe connectors? I will probably make up a 8 point cage for it as well sometime down the road. I hear alot about the torque boxes on fox bodies and I'm not too sure I understand that? I have a newish (about 700 miles) AOD, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with a T-5 or maybe try and get a T-56 in there sometime. But what I really want to know is, what else would you do to your car with this kind of power...hypothetically of course.
UPR torque box kit - it adds steel plates to brace up where the Control Arms connect to frame.
Maximum Motor Sports lower control arms
Ford Racing upper control arms
Maximum Motor Sports weld in subframes.
at least thats what I put on my car ...........

What he said above and: But i have Metco adjustable uppers and lowers, moser 31 spline axles, Full Moser spool, MAC rear-end girdle, axle tubes and torque boxes welded, c-clip elem., welded sub-frame's, TKO 600, all this handles my n/a 357 with stage 2 ported TW's, 625/661 lift cam with dur @ .050 being 246/259, vic jr, HP 750
Your gonna need a TKO 600 or G-force T-5. 31 spline axles as well. I would look into a tubular k-member with front and rear coil overs. Your also goona need some stuts and shocks.
Ok, thanks for the feedback guys. The torque box makes sense to me now. What kind of clutch do you guys use for this power level? I know there are plenty of companies that advertise there products in this range, but I was wondering if there where any you have tried that didn't hold up long, or just didn't cut it.
