Default trac lok clutch packs

When I did my gears I also rebuilt the trac-lok using the +1 friction plate method. It locks up pretty good, but I was wondering if anyone has tried removing the friction materialfrom the clutch discs and stacking in more plates. I read an article about it on the web and its supposed to work well. It took mine a while to settle in. I shimmed it up as tight as possible, to the point where I had to gently persuade the spider gears in with a block of wood and a hammer. Getting the pin back in the carrier was a bit of a struggle. On the road it seemed to work fine although I did get clunking on low speed, tight turns. The last time it clunked it let out a pretty good bang, but its been quiet ever since. I'm going to drain the gear oiland pull the diff cover just to do a little inspecting to make sure I didn't break anything.
