Duplicolor vinyl and fabric coating....can be bought at autozone (i know, i know) for like 6 bucks...me and my buddy tried it on the backseat of his 89 lx parts car...it looks good...has anyone used it on their cars? how has it held up? what do you think?

i just bought 89 gt seats that are mint and grey...so i was thinking of painting the leather sides and backs of them black, and get two tone thing goin...what do you guys think? if not this stuff, what do you reccommend?

If you can get ahold of SEM Colorcoats usually from a local Auto paint store this line of dye has a better selection of colors and is specifically
made for leather and vinyl.Thats what the professionals use.I happen to dye leather and vinyl for a living so ive used it plenty.
Make sure you clean your leather real good with a good leather cleaner and shake cans up well and let dry in between coats.

I used Duplicolor's Vinyl and Fabric paint to redo the majority of my interior in black. I even used it on hard plastics in addition to Duplicolor's Adhesion Promoter. I am very pleased with the results and it bonds very well. The main thing is make sure there are NO contaminants on the surfaces you are painting. I used the Duplicolor prep towlettes and didn't have any real issues.

I also changed the color of my interior from (a dirty grimey) grey to all black. It looks really nice. I used the Duplicolor you mentioned. I took out my rear seats (grey vinyl) and was going to take them to be covered in black vinyl, but I just wanted to spray it to see what it would look like. Came out pretty good. I'm not taking it to be covered anymore.
