hey guy's i need a little help, im going to be buying a set of 15 by 8 weld wheels for the back, i want a 28" tall tire, but i dont know how wide i can go?? this is a stock length rear axle, an i do have drag springs. I want to go with a set of Mickey tompson et streets, is there anyone else i should look at? also would i need to roll the fender? thanks for the help guys

What is the backspacing of your rims? That will determine a lot. I ran 28x11.50 15's on an 8" rim w/ 5.5" backspacing. No problems on the outside, I had to slightly massage the inner wells w/ BFH. It wasn't a big deal. If you ran a 10" tire, you would probably be ok w/o having to do anything

Irun a 28x12.50x15 on a 15x10 rim with 6.5in backspacing and all I had to do is massage the inner
fenderwell a little. So you should be ok with what your going to be running.

is that with the stock length axle assembly??? and does it stick out a lot?

kweb288 yes it is the stock length axle. I also attached a pic so you can see that it doesn't stick out too much.

i actually just asked about doing this i have the exact rim and tires. they don't stick out at all on the outside and the inside just needed a little help... were you able to run tailpipes with those tires. one pipe was fine but the other side was touching just a little bit. when i get new tires i will be running a 275/50/15 so those tires will be a little shorter and a little thinner right. these 11.5's for some reason don't look as wide as all of the cars with 275 tires on them.

I was able to adjust my pipes for fit. You may have to bang yours in if there is no adjustability w/ your exhaust.

you can safely run a 28x11.5-15 et street. hell i have 315/60/15 mt DRs on a 8 inch rim
