ok now that i see what your dealing with....

try two things... 1st... try to take a punch to the center of the axle, and hit w. a hammer... the axles have some in and out motion in them, so you may be able to hit it far enough to pop out... then force into place...

or

what i do is... take a hammer... and smack... really ****ing hard... right on the side... where it has a little paint mark or somethin goin on... smack the **** out of it right there... and usually the ball joint will pop out... some times it helps to put one of the bolts for the strut back in... and then use a pry bar, and pry down on the A arm while smacking that spot w. a hammer... you just have to hit it hard... itll come apart...

you can try a fork, but it may damage the balljoint boot... resulting in you having to replace it aswell, which isnt bad... but hey, who likes to replace **** thats not broken??

hope this helps

WHOA WHOA WHOA.. everyone STFU

Considering I worked for nissan, I have to say, you are going about this ALL wrong..

it shouldnt have taken you more then 30 minutes to chage that axle.. you DO NOT need to seperate the balljoint.

put the spindle back up in place and put the two bolts back through the end of the strut... then smack the end of the axle with a hammer. it will pop loose. THEN remove the spindle bolts, pull the spindle down and slide the axle out.

next time you have to do ANYTHING to your nissan... ask me. Im a factory certified Tech
