i actually lost traction with the 275

my best run+launch was on a 235/60/15 street tire

you prob lost traction cuz the weight is spread out over a larger area thus the friction is less. think of it like snow shoes. but a wider tire may help if you have really skinny tires. its hard to tell what size will give the best traction.

you have to consider the dynamics of it. you put 12" of tire on the rear of the car and you have just spread the weight of the rear over a wider area... which in turn creates less friction.

I could never chirp my tires in second gear when I was running on 275's
but I could bake them in second and chirp them in third when i went to a 315!


also, look at all the cars that run in the 8's on 10.5" drags.... you dont need HUGE tires for traction.

i get traction fine right now on my 275 with a 15x8...im wanna go 17x10 for looks..id still have a 275 tire

screw it, when its time for rims and tires next summer, im just gonna go to the tire shop by me and plan it all out with them, see what i can / can't fit and such
